  Memorial University has named its female and male athletes of the week. Sydney Walsh is the Memorial female athlete of the week after posting a shutout against Mount Allison Mounties, followed by a five  save 1-0 loss to the Acadia Axewomen. Ranaldo Morris is the Memorial male athlete of the week. He helped the Sea-Hawks secure their first win of the season. He scored two goals in the Sea-Hawks 4-0 victory over the Mount Allison Mounties on Saturday.…

  Defending champions Shamrocks beat Holy Cross 5-2 in the opening game of their best of five St John’s senior baseball semi final series. Scott Goosney pitches the win and Sean Janes takes the loss. PROVINCE GETS 1ST OFFICIAL FOOTBALL FIELD

  The provinces first official football field will be opened Tuesday. Football NL and Avalon Minor Football will have the ceremony at 6:30 at the field located at Wishingwwell Field. Football goal posts have been installed at the new field. Its the first time a field will be there for football only. Football was played in St John’s at St Pats Ball Park back in the 1960’s.  …
