MUN NAMES ATHLETES OF THE WEEK

Well Memorial has named its female athlete of the week and it’s not a basketball player. Jennifer Boland is the Memorial female athlete of the week following a great showing at the 2019 AUS Track and Field Championships in Moncton. Boland won a gold medal in the 60 metre Hurdles, while also placing 4th in the 60 metre  sprint. And another track athlete has been named the male athlete of the week. BRODERS WINS JR HOCKEY SCORING TITLE

Michael Broders of Mount Pearl Blades has won the St. John’s Junior League scoring title. He played in 27 games and scored 17 goals and added 41 assists for 58 points. Ryan Dawson of the C-B-n Stars was second with 57 points from 24 goals and 33 assists in 25 games. Colin O’Neill of Mount Pearl was third with 32 goals and 19 assists for 51 points in 27 games.…

The St. John’s Edge dropped their first meeting of the season with the Kitchener-Waterloo Titans on Saturday night on the short end of a  117-105 win by the Titans at The Aud in Kitchener, ON. Glen ‘Big Baby’ Davis  and Junior Cadougan led the Edge with 24 points each.
