The NL boys under 15 soccer team defeated Nova Scotia 4-2 in action Thursday . Anderson Pritchard had two goals for the Newfoundland and Labrador squad with two goals while Reg Pike added one. The Newfoundland Growlers,have re-signed team Captain and Goulds Native, James Melindy to a one-year, ECHL contract. James Melindy,appeared in 55 games last season with the Newfoundland Growlers where he picked up 16 points from four goals and 12 assists and he also recorded 185 penalty minutes. Melindy was drafted 88th overall by the Phoenix Coyotes in the 2012 NHL Entry Draft.…

The 2019 time trials for the Royal St. John’s Regatta were completed Saturday. Fine Stokes coxswain is Craig Whittle and crew members include stroke James Cadigan, Daniel Cadigan, Mark Perry, Colin Staple, Mark Hayward and Adam Kavanagh. They rowed the course in 9:23.0 Hyflodraulic Limited has the fastest time in the female section. Their time was 5:09:50.
