    Roebothan. McKay and Marshall Republic are the 2019 St. John’s Intermediate Fastpitch softball champions. Roebothan, McKay and Marshall Republic defeated LaFontaine Club 5-2 to take the best of five final three games to two.  Ward Gosse of the champions was named the playoffMost Valuable Player. Gosse pitched the win on a four hitter and struckout 11. Nick Pittman takes the loss and Johnny O’Rielley came in relief. BASEBALL PLAYOFFS ON THIS WEEKEND AT ST PATS

Game four of the St. John’s senior baseball semi-final series between Holy Cross and Feildians is set for Friday night  at six at St. Pats. Feildians lead that series two games to one. The winner of this series plays Shamrocks for the league championship.   It’s also game four of the intermediate semi final between Feildians and Holy Cross at 8:30. Roebothan McKay and Marshall Republic and LaFontaine Club play in game five of their Intermediate fast pitch softball final series at Lions tonight at seven. That series is tied at two games apiece.  The senior final series resumes Saturday at one o’clock at Lions Park between 3 Cheers Pub Bud Light Dodgers and Kelly’s Pub Molson Bulldogs. 3 Cheers Pub Bud light Dodgers lead that series two games to one.…

MUN MEN’S SOCCER TEAM WIN TWO , WOMEN’S TEAM TIE AND A LOSS

 Kyle Williams Number 11 gets congratulated after his goal for Memorial. ( JOE CHASE PHOTO) The Memorial men’s soccer team had two weekend wins on home turf. Sunday Memorial blanked Acadia 5-nothing. Alex Dolomount, Harry Carter, Jacob Grant, Tyler Kirby and Kyle Williams shared in the scoring. Dylan Crichton with the shutout. Saturday Memorial blanked Acadia 2-nothing. Crichton hadc the shutout and Kyle Williams with both goals. Memorial now 3-3-2 on the season.  Memorial women’s Sea Hawks soccer team had a loss and a tie this weekend. They fell 2-nothing Saturday to Acadia. The teams played to a scoreless tie Sunday.…

  The St. John’s Metro Basketball League begins it’s 49th season Thursday  with some pre-season runs at  at Waterford Valley High. Teams from last season will get to some players pre season action and make selections for their teams following the pre season run.
