ST JOHN’S, NF – The 2025 Scotties Tournament of Hearts curling championships starts this weekend at the Fort William Gardens in Thunder Bay, Ontario. Newfoundland and Labrador will be represented by Skip Brooke Godsland, with Erin Porter, Sarah McNeil Lamswood, Camille Burt, Kate Paterson with coach Cory Schuh of St. John’s. They will be playing on Pool B teams from Manitoba, Nova Scotia, Ontario, Quebec, North West Territories and Yukon. Teams will play a complete eight-game round robin within their pools. The former Quebec Maritimes Junior Hockey League’s Acadie-Bathurst Titan is to be relocated to St. John’s for the 2025-26 season and with a new name. In a news conference on Thursday the team announced that they will be called the Newfoundland Regiment in a tribute to the province’s military history and the famous Royal Newfoundland Regiment.
