Roebothan McKay and Marshall Avalon Capitals scored single goals in the first and third periods and blank Mount Pearl Blades 2-nothing in junior hockey play Sunday. The win moves the Capitals into a first place tie with C-B-R Renegades. Both teams have 20 points.
Andrew Paul and Ben Cleary get the goals and A J Rooney gets the shutout.
Chris Mallard and Joey Trenholm score two goals apiece leading St John’s Caps past the Northeast Celtics 8-2. Brandon Pomeroy, Jason Michaud, Zack Cooper and Liam Maher get the remaining markers for the winners. Justin Carberry and Tyler Bennett beat goalie Ian Woolfrey for the Celtics goals.
And Connor Stevens netted a pair of markers and it’s a Tri Pen Flyers 5-3 win over C-B-N Stars.
Jason Richards, Patrick Churchill and Jordan Mercer fired home the other goals for the winners.
Bradley Budden, Riley Deering and Ryan Dawson scored the Stars markers.
The Flyers were up 2-nothing after 20 minutes and held a 3-2 advantage heading into the final frame.

Roebothan, McKay and Marshall Avalon Capitals scored two goals in each period and go on to a 6-4 win over the St. John’s Caps Saturday night.
The Capitals scoring was shared by five different players. Brett Vokey, John Charles Snow, Andrew Paul, Devin Saunders, Ben Cleary and Cameron Dunne had the goals.
Jason Michaud had two goals for the Caps while Jason Shawn, Loveridge his first junior goal and Joey Trenholm had the other Caps markers.

Mitch King scored in the overtime session and C-B-R Renegades moved back into first place as they edge the Southern Shore Breakers 6-5 Saturday night.
Colin Chafe had two goals with singles off the sticks of Carter Marissen, Andrew Barron, and Ben Candy all in regulation time.
Phil Corbett was the offensive scorer for the Breakers with three goals. Jarrod Avery and Shayne Kavanagh had the other markers.

Seven different players contributed to the scoring and C-B-N Stars scored three third period goals and routed Celtics 7-2 in junior hockey play Friday in Bay Roberts.
Michael Mason, Riley Deering, Mitchell Lewis, Ryan Dawson, Daniel Hickey, Lucas Goobie and Josh LeDrew shared in the goal scoring for the winners.
Stephen Brown and Luke McKay scored for the Celtics.
The Stars with that win are now tied for second place with the CBR Renegades as both teams have 18 points. The Renegades have a game in hand.

Mount Pearl Blades rallied for two goals in the final period to break a 5-5 tie and come away with a 7-5 win over Southern Shore Breakers in Mobile. The win vaults the Blades into first place in the standings with 19 points one more than CBR Renegades and both teams have played 14 games.
Bobby Upshall was the leader for the Breakers scoring three goals and adding two assists for a five point game. That gives Upshall 13 goals on the season and eight assists. Andrew Pollard followed with two goals and Aaron Moore and Chad Thompson rounded out the scoring for the winners.
Five players shared the Breakers scoring. Claude Moulaison, Shayne Kavanagh, Shamus Sloane, Jarrod Avery and Justin David has the goals for the Shore.
