WILLIAMS LOOKS TO BE A GROWLERS COACH

Mount Pearl native Darryl Williams appears that he will be back with the ECHL champion Newfoundland Growlers as an assistant coach. He spent  spent a decade as an NHL assistant coach with the Vancouver Canucks and New York Rangers.The parent Toronto Maple Leafs, who make such revelations, haven’t officially announced Williams as a full-time hire, but his presence in Mississauga means that should happen soon.

The Growlers will be playing two exhibition games Friday and Saturday in Brampton against the Beast.

Friday’s game has a 9:30 p.m.island time  start time, while Saturday’s puck drop is at 6:30 p.m. island time.
