VIKINGS, SHAMROCKS FINAL

BASEBALL BASERoebothan, McKay and Marshall Gonzaga Vikings and Shamrocks are on to the St. John`s Senior Baseball League best of seven final series.

The Vikings took advantage of some sloppy defense by Feildians to twice overcome a three run lead by the Double Blues to beat Feildians 12-7. They take the best of five series three games to one.

Dan Connors who came on in relief of starter Tyler Vincent gets the win. Connors goes three and a third innings allowing one run on two hits. He walked three and struck out five. Vincent went three and two thirds innings. He was touched for six runs on seven hits. He walked two and fanned three.

Alex Walsh started and took the loss for Feildians. He went five and two thirds innings and allowed eight runs on six hits. His brother Jon Walsh finished up.

Cory Comeford of Feildians was the game’s top batter with three hits in five attempts.

 

The Shamrocks win their best of five series three games to one as well as they beat Holy Cross 10-3 in game four.

Scott Goosney gets the win on a complete game five hitter. Sean Janes takes the loss going four and two thirds innings giving up nine hits. Gerry Stone came in relief.

Scott Stockley of Shamrocks was the games top batter with a four for five performance.
