The Hockey career of Terry Ryan Jr is now over. Ryan tells THE SPORTSPAGE he is retiring from the game of hockey at age 39.
Ryan became a house hold name in 1995 when he was drafted 8th over all and first overall by the Montreal Canadiens at the Amateur draft . Ryan also played for Fredericton Canadiens and St Johns Maple Leafs. He has also a career in ball hockey and has represented Canada many times. Ryan played 8 games for the Habs in the NHL and had 0 goals or assists but 36 minutes in penalties. He started playing hockey in Mount Pearl and moved to the mainland where he played with Quesnel Millionaires , Veron Lakers, Tri City Americans, Red Deer Rebels, Fredericton Canadiens, St Johns Maple Leafs, Utah Grizzlies, Long Beach Ice Dogs, Colorado Gold Kings, Hershey Bears, Idaho Steelheads, Cincinnati Cyclones, and Orlando Seals.
He finishes his hockey career with the Gander Flyers playing this past season in the Central West Senior loop. He played in just 18 games and had two goals and eight assists. Ryan tells THE SPORTSPAGE ” No time and my body is done”
Ryan told THE SPORTSPAGE he will be starting his career as a stand up Comedian and has national comedian Gerry Dee as his mentor.
