SWILERS BEAT BAYMEN IN RUGBY PLAY

In Provincial rugby the Swilers trumpted the Baymen 34 to 7 at the Swilers Complex while the Vandals edged the Dogs 30 to 19 at Torbay.

 

The Junior Men’s series starts Monday with the Baymen challenging the Dogs at CBS and the Swilers playing the Vandals at the Swilers Upper Pitch. The Swilers Senior Women meet the Baymen at the Swilers Lower Pitch in their 2016 season debut. All three matches are scheduled to kick-off at 6:30 p.m.

HEARN 2016In the final  International Men’s Senior Rugby Test series, Canada’s Gordon McRorie and Italy’s Tommao Alan duked it out in penalty kicks with McRorie scoring all 18 points gained by Canada while Alan took 12 for the Italian Republic in a close fought match at BMO Field in Toronto. Ornel Gega scored a try and Carlo Canna ended the match with a 71 foot penalty kick to snatch the win from Canada scoring 20 to 18 for the Italian Azzurri.  

Newfoundland’s Ciarn Hearn joined an exclusive club by  Capping his 50th Test Match.
