Gerry Stone’s double in the fifth inning cleared the bases as Holy Cross scored three runs and go on to hand Storm a 5-1 loss in St. John’s senior baseball play Thursday night.
Sean Janes who came on in relief of started Vinny Grace with the game tied at one all picks up the win. Janes went two and two thirds innings and didn’t allow a run,nor a hit or walk and fanned one.
Grace went four and one third innings allowing one run on threre hits, walked four and struckout two.
Ryan Harnett went the distance for the Storm. He was touched for five runs on nine hits. He issued three free passes and fanned four.
Steve Brien of the Storm and James Walsh of Holy Cross were the only batters in this game with two hits.
