Celtics defeated Trinity Placentia Flyers 8-5 in Junior action Sunday at Whitbourne.

Scott Cahill and Graham Oldford combined for nine points in this game. Cahill scored two goals and two assists and Oldford two goals and three assists. Tyler Bennett had one goal and four assists Stephen Brown, Alex Snow and Brandon Bird singles.

Colin Jackman scored twice for the Flyers with single goals scored by Curtis March, Jordan Richards and  Cass Warren.

Mount Pearl Blades skated to a 5-1 win over Southern Shore Breakers at the Glacier.

Bobby Upshall tallied twice for the Blades with singles from Grant Thompson, Daniel Toope and Liam Coombs.

Mitchell O`Driscoll found the net for the Shore.

Tri Pen Flyers in overtime edge the St. John’s Caps 4-3 in one of three St. John’s Junior Hockey League games Saturday. Two others were blow outs.

Connor Stevens led the offensive attack for the Flyers with two goals  his second in overtime  at 35 seconds was the winner. Teammates Tyler Whittle and Curtis March adding singles.

Joey Trenholm scored twice for the Caps and Jason Michaud added the single.

Ben Cleary and Brett Vokey scored three goals each leading the Roebothan McKay and Marshall Avalon Capitals to a 10-1 trouncing of Northeast Celtics. Cody Barron added two goals and singles came from Matt Caines and Adam Caines.

Jon Cooper replied for the Celtics.

CBR Renegades blasted C-B-N Stars 11-1 at the Robert French Memorial Stadium in Kelligrews

Mitch King led the assault with three goals and three assists. Carter Marrissen , Matt Porter and Colin Chafe tallied twice with singles off the stick of Tyler Hennessey and Lucas Lush who also had five helpers.

Jarred Walters had the lone C-B-N marker.

C-B-N Stars scored five third period goals and skate to a 9-5 win over Southern Shore Breakers Friday night at the Mobile Arena.

Mitchell Lewis and Ryan Dawson scored a pair of goals each for the winners. Nick Noseworthy, Lucas Goobie, Cody Batten and Jarred Walters added singles.

Shayne Kavanagh had two goals for the shore with singles contributed by A J Doyle, Erik Diamond and Justin David.

 

C-B-N now 3-4 on the season while the Shore fall t0 0-3.
