OMT Shamrocks are St. John’s senior baseball champions for the 23rd time.
The Shamrocks scored a run in the top of the 9th to edge Roebothan McKay and Marshall Gonzaga vikings 9-8 and sweep the best of seven final.
Ben Murphy the third pitcher used by the Shamrocks gets the win. He relieved Jay Warford who relieved starter Matt Murphy.
Allan Saunders who came in relief of starter David Lahey gets tagged with the loss.
Dave Penney of the Shamrocks went four for five with two doubles and two singles and also had the hit that eventually brought home the winning run.
Matt Parsons and Peter Madden each went three for five for the Vikings.
