Newfoundland Selects won the Under 16 Eastern Canadian softball fast pitch championship.
The Selects defeated doubled Ontario Ivanhoe Storm 4-2 to take the gold medal Liam Shea pitched the win in the gold medal game. He was also named the playoff most valuable player. He also was the op batter in the round robin play with a .638 batting average.
The selects finished with a perfect 6-0 record.
