ATLANTIC ROCK GET WIN

RUGBY BALLThe Atlantic Rock defeated the Ontario Blues 22 to 12 in the first of an eight round-robin series for the MacTier Cup and the Senior Men’s Canadian Rugby Championships on Saturday at Burlington’s Sherwood Forest Park.

 

Patrick McNicholas of the Rock led the scoring with a 25 metre penalty kick four minutes into the match. McNicholas scored a try and two conversions to lead the pack with 12 points. Rock players Aiden McMullen and Toni Wodzicki also scored tries while Rob Brouwer and Mark Denton grounded balls and John Sheridan converted a try for the Blues.

The Atlantic Rock will host the Blues at St. John’s on July 2nd while the Prairie Wolf Pack host the BC Bears at Calgary.
