THE BIGS PROVINCIAL SOFTBALL CHAMPIONSHIPS

The Big’s are the 2016 Provincial senior A men’s fast pitch softball champions.

 

Mike Noftall goes two for three with a solo home run leading the bigs to a 4-2 win over the NTV Hitmen.

 

Mark Power, who was named the tournament’s most valuable, pitched the win on a seven hitter with nine strikeouts.

 

Veteran Ward Gosse takes the loss. He was touched for 10 hits and recorded ten strikeouts.

 

The Bigs RUNS:

2R 1st: Geoff Evely led-off the inning with a single to left-field, Andrew Evans reached on an infield hit, a wild pitch allowed Evely to advance to third base and Evans to advance to second base, Bryan Clarke grounded out 4-3 to score Evely and Evans advanced to third base on the play and With 2-Out: Joey Maynard singled to centerfield to score Evans.

1R 2nd: Mike Noftall led-off the inning with a Solo Home Run to left-field.

1R 4th: With 1-Out: Craig Edmunds singled to centerfield, Shane Kelly singled to right-field, Geoff Evely grounded out 6-3 and Edmunds advanced to third base and Kelly advanced to second base on the play and With 2-Out: Geoff Evely came on to run for Edmunds (2-Out Catcher’s Rule) and a pass ball allowed Evely to score.

1R 7th: Justin Gill led-off the inning with a walk, Danny Mullins walked and With 1-Out: Jeremy O’Reilly reached on an infield hit to load the bases, Fergus Griffiths reached on a fielder’s choice; Gill out 1-2 on the play and With 2-Out: Ryan King came on to pinch-run for Griffiths and Ward Gosse drew a bases loaded walk to score Mullins.
