    NTV Hitmen beat the Bigs 9-1 in a St Johns senior men’s fast pitch semi-final game Thursday night .  That best of five series is now tied at a game apiece. Brad Ezekiel went three for three for the winners with a three run homer. Teammate Danny Mullins clocked a two run shot and Ryan Boland a solo blast. ST JOHNS GET BRIER

      The Sports Page has learned that the City of St. John’s has been awarded the 2017 Canadian men’s Curling Championship—The Brier. Sources tell the SportsPage that an announcement will be made in St. John’s within the next two weeks. Local officials will not comment on the story only saying that the announcement will be made by Canadian Curling officials as to what bid has been successful.     The St. John’s Senior Men’s Fast Pitch Softball League has named Sean Cleary of Kelly’s Pub Molson Bulldogs as player of the Month for the Month of August. He was 2-0 in league play and 4-0 at the National championships.  He had a 3-2 record at the International Softball Tournament. In the month of august he recorded 135 strikeouts. Cleary Helped The Toronto Gators To A 2nd Place Finish At The ISC World Tournament And Was Named 2nd Team All-World Pitcher.
