    CeeBee Stars win their first game of the season in Avalon East senior hockey as they defeated Bell Island 7-6 in overtime. Robert Slaney, Stephen Greeley and Peter George scored two goals each for the CeeBee Stars. George’s second goal was the game winner. Tyler Gale had two goals and two assists for the Blues. Kory Waterman, Garrett Murphy, Robbie Perks and Tyler Adams had singles for the Blues.   S A T U R D A Y The St. John’s Ice Caps fall 2-1 in overtime to the Syracuse Crunch at Mile One Saturday night.  That gives the Crunch a split of the weekend series and it was also the second game of this series decide in an extra session. Matt Taormina scored the winning goal at 3:03 of the overtime session to give the Crunch the win. Sparkes in his six games has seven goals and eight assists for 15 points. Veteran Brian Kielly scored 21 points leading Swilers past George Street Bear Market 49-44 in Metro Basketball play. Team mate Mike Provencer added 15. Dave Banfield was top scorer for the losers with 14 points. Mark Dawson scores 17 points and Dave Smith contributed 16 as M5 down ACW Law 54-34.
