CLEARY NAMED SR SOFTBALL MVP

  Sean Cleary of Kelly’s Pub Molson Bulldogs was named the Most Valuable Player in the St. John’s senior men’s fastpitch softball league for the past season.   Cleary had a 9-2 record for the season and has 144 strikeouts in 72 and two thirds innings of pitching.     C O R R E C T I O N Jordan Pomeroy of the Canada Games team was named rookie of the year, he played 14 games and had a batting average of .366.       St. John’s Rams are Avalon Bowl Champs   The St. John’s Rams defeated Bay Roberts Warriors 8-6  in the first ever Football NL U-18 Avalon Bowl.   Tanner Mitchell of St. John’s opened the scoring with a 1st quarter sack in the end zone for a two point safety.     Austin Janes rushed for a Touchdown to put Bay Roberts up 6-2 early in the 4th quarter.   However, with under 5 minutes to go in the game, St. John’s Rams Quarterback, Peter Clarke, scampered for the game winning touchdown to put the Rams up for…
