S U N D A Y  Gander Flyers remain undefeated so far this season. They win their fourth straight game on Sunday beating Southern Shore Breakers 5-2 at Gander. Mitch Oake had two goals with Jordan Escott, Andrew Paul and Colton Collins adding singles. Andrew Gale and Peter Kavanagh scored for the Shore.     The SPORTSPAGE has learned that Joe Maynard has been ousted as general manager of the Northeast Eagles of the Eastern Senior Hockey League. Sources tell THE SPORTSPAGE that Maynard has been replaced by James Cadigan a member of the senior hockey team. The Sportspage has made several attempts to contact officials of the Eagles to confirm the information but no one is available for comment. Maynard, a native of Flatrock, was recognized as an individual who has served amateur hockey faithfully, winning the Hockey Canada Order of Merit award for Atlantic Canada.…

      The New Kids on the Block–the St Johns Edge now have a 3-1 record in the National Basketball League. The Edge behind Alex Johnson’s 19 point performance beat Moncton 96-89. Rasham Brocdus had 18 points and Charles Hinkle 16. The Edge played the game without Carl English who was given the night off. The Edge started the season with a 97-96 win over the Island Storm. They lost to Halifax 124-121 then beat Cape Breton 106-98. They will finish this five game road trip Friday against St John Riptide.…
