EDGE PLAYERS NAMED TO ALL-STAR TEAMS

  Good news for St. John’s Edge Basketball team as the National Basketball League of Canada announced its all star teams and all Canadian.   The all-star team had two members of the Edge named.   Newfoundland hockey players did well at the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League draft.   Mark Hillier of Labrador City was selected by Moncton in the fourth round. In the 5th round Rimouski selected Brandon Casey of Grand Falls-Windsor. Charlottetown picked St.John’s native Alex Power in the eight round. In the 9th round Nathan Kell of Paradise was also picked by Charlottetown. C-B-S player Kyle Lynch was drafted in the 9th round by Acadie Bathurst And Noah Wilson of St.John’s was selected in the 10th round by Drummondville.…

    George Bursell  was re-elected as President of the League for a two year term.  Jim Hare as Vice President, Gerry Taylor as Director of Stats, Cathy Doyle as Secretary and Steven Clarke as Director of Minor Officials.     David Freake won the Garnish 10K Road Race Saturday. He covered the course in 33 minutes and 30 seconds. Tyler Gale was second in 34:47.
