  The St. John’s Edge have acquired the protected rights to Maurice Jones from the Windsor Express for the protected rights to Grandy Glaze.   Maurice Jones who is a native of Saginaw, Michigan has spent the last two seasons with the Windsor Express of the NBL Canada.     Hill Struck out 19 To Set New Senior Provincial Record For Strikeouts In 7-Inning Game Jason Hill (3 Cheers Pub Bud Light Dodgers) turned in an outstanding pitching performance Friday night (September 07) in a 6-1 win over Kelly’s Pub Molson Bulldogs. The right-hander worked quickly, found his groove early and got stronger as the game moved along. HICKEY NAMED TO NATIONAL TEAM

    St. John’s native Liam Hickey received good news on Friday. Hockey has been selected to  Canada’s National Para Hockey Team for the 2018-2019 season. He made his Winter Games debut in 2018 helping Canada to the silver in Para ice hockey. Hickey played for Canada in wheelchair basketball at the Toronto 2015 Parapan American Games and the Rio 2016 Paralympic Games. He helped Canada to the silver medal in Toronto. ADAM PARDY SIGNS WITH GROWLERS

  The Newfoundland Growlers have signed Bonavista native Adam Pardy to a one-year, ECHL contract. With the signing, Pardy becomes the third Newfoundlander to join the Growlers roster. The 6’-4”, 227-pound defensemen was drafted 173rd overall in the 2004 NHL entry draft by the Calgary Flames. Pardy went on to appear in 350 NHL games registering five goals and 50 assists for 55 points, along with a +2 rating and 276 penalty minutes. During his 10-year NHL career Pardy has suited up for 6 different clubs including Calgary, Dallas, Buffalo, Winnipeg, Edmonton and Nashville. Pardy, 34, most recently skated in…
