HOCKEY NL ANNUAL MEETING THIS WEEKEND

  Hockey NL has it’s Annual General Meeting and Election of Officers at the Albatross Hotel in Gander beginning Friday. Hockey NL will also be holding their Annual Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony and Award Presentations on Saturday. There will be five (5)  new members of the Hockey Hall of Fame that will be officially inducted as well as presentations of several annual awards such as the President’s Award, Ray Bowe Award, Meritorious Awards, Female Promotional Award, Joe Byrne Development Honor Roll Award, Charlie McCarthy Memorial Award, and the Ron Healey Memorial Award.…

CASEY NAMED HEAD COACH IN FREDERICTON

    Grand Falls Windsor native Brian Casey has a new coaching position.   Casey who guided the Cataracts for many years is now the new head coach of the Fredericton Junior Red Wings.   As an Athlete, Coach Casey played two years of Major Junior Hockey in the QMJHL then four years with the Acadia Axemen University squad. He then went on to play one year with The Canadian Men’s National Team (where he won a Spengler Cup in Davos Switzerland with Team Canada in 1999) and ten years of pro hockey in Slovakia, Austria and Denmark.
