Seventh games of any sports series are exciting. The seventh game of the Avalon East Senior Hockey League final lived up to that Friday night.

The series between the Southern Shore Breakers and Northeast Eagles was a back and forth affair.

Game seven had its dramatic moment as it was decided in overtime after 60 minutes of regular play.

Chris Mooney scored his second goal of the game at 5:01 of overtime to lift the Eagles to a 4-3 win over the the Southern Shore Breakers. That win moves the Eagles into the best of seven final for the league championship against the Conception Bay CeeBee Stars.

Andrew White and Chris Sparkes had the other goals in regulation time for Northeast.

Cory Blackmore tallied twice for the Breakers and Jeremy Nicholas had the other goal. Blackmores second goal of the game in the third period forced the contest into the extra session.
