NL U16 girls win Atlantic baseball championship

SUMMERSIDE, PEI – Newfoundland’s U16 girls have won the Atlantic baseball championship.

On Sunday afternoon in Summerside, PEI Team NL defeated Team NS 9 – 3 to capture the 2021 Atlantic Baseball Championship.

Jaida Lee pitched the win with 15 strikeouts and banged out 3 hit to lead the winners. Jaida claimed Top Batter and Top Pitcher honors for the tournament.

Hope Bishop-Frizzel (CBS) pitched the last 1 1/3 innings.

Holly Russell (GFW) had two hits while Madison Lockyer (MP), Jonelle Carter (BSG), and Molly Healy (STJ) each had a hit.

The team returns home to NL today.
