NATIONAL SOCCER CHAMPIONSHIPS

Newfoundland’s two women’s teams finished sixth and eighth at the National Jubilee Competition which concluded on Monday.
Halifax edged Holy Cross 3-2 on penalty kicks to finish fifth and Holy Cross sixth.
Saskatchewan nipped Kirby United 2-1 also on penalty kicks. Kirby United placed eighth.
The Royal Selects of Beauport Quebec claimed the gold.

On the men’ s side Edmonton Green and Gold doubled St Lawrence Laurentians 2-1 .

The Laurentians finished sixth.
And Mount Pearl finished 11th with a 3-2 win in the Consolation round over Pegasus FC of Brtitish Columbia.
The Gold Medal in the Challenge Cup went to Edmonton Scottish.
