MAPLE LEAFS CHAMPIONS

PUCK AND STICK ON ICE

 

The St. John’s Maple Leafs have made it back to back provincial Major Midget AAA Hockey titles.

 

The Maple Leafs defeated the Western Kings 4-1 Saturday night to win the best of seven final series four games to two.

 

Danny Rice, Tim Noble, Cody Langmead and Tyler Planetta scored for the Maple Leafs in the championship game.

 

George Young had the goal for the Kings.

 

Kyle McGrath of the Maple Leafs was named the series Most Valuable Player.

 

The Maple Leafs will represent the province at the Atlantic championships set for the new stadium in Kelligrews March 31st to April 3rd.
