MACDONALD LANDS ANOTHER ECHL HOCKEY FRANCHISE

1 min read

Deacon Sports and Entertainment of Canada  headed by Newfoundlander Dean MacDonald will own the new ECHL franchise in Coralville IOWA.

The sides have a multi-year agreement to use the arena.

This  group already owns the ECHL’s Newfoundland Growlers and a team in Trois Riviere Quebec.

It is unclear what NHL club the ECHL Coralville franchise will be affiliated with.

According to The  Cedar Rapids Gazette, the Minnesota Wild are the obvious choice because of their close proximity to Coralville IOWA.
