The Marlies tied it up just 2:19 later, with a marker from Kasperi Kapanen, and the score would remain tied until the third period.
Michael McCarron picked up his first of the season, and also the game-winner. Chris Terry and Mark Barberio assisted the go-ahead goal. Sven Andrighetto potted one just 21 seconds later to pull the IceCaps ahead of the Marlies 3-1. Barberio picked up his second assist of the game on Andrighetto’s marker, and Hudon logged his second point of the night with a helper. Stefan Matteau sealed the deal with an unassisted empty-netter, his second in as many games, with just 36 seconds left on the clock.
Charlie Lindgren was outstanding in goal, turning aside 26-of-27 shots, in his sixth win of the season. Lindgren remains undefeated between the pipes in his professional career.
