Hill United Chiefs 8– Kelly’s Pub Molson Bulldogs 1 (6-Innings)
Newfoundlander Brad Ezekiel went three for three and blasted a solo home run as Hill United Chiefs won the Hill United Chiefs Rock Invitational fast pitch softball championship Sunday. The Hill United team downed Kelly’s Pub Molson Bulldogs 8-1.
Tournament MVP Brad Adam Folkard pitched the win in the championship game. He allowed one run on four hits and registered six strikeouts.
Colin Walsh started for the Bulldogs goes two innings and takes the loss. He gave up five runs on six hits. Liam Myers came on in relief and tossed three and two thirds innings allowing three runs on six hits.
Folkard, the tournament MVP had a 4-0 record and pitched 22 innings. He gave up one earned run in the tournament and recorded 33 strikeouts.
James Todhunter also of the Chiefs was the tournament’s top batter with a .583 average from seven hits in 12 plate appearances.

They get one run in the first as Brad Ezekiel led-off the game with an infield hit, Nicolas Carril reached on a fielder’s choice; Brad Ezekiel out 6-4 on the play, With 1-Out: Carril advanced to second base on a Nick Shailes groundout 3U and With 2-Out: Stephen Mullaley singled to right-field to score Carril.
The Chiefs scored four second inning runs– Mark Johnson led-off the inning with a single to left-field, Joel Southam reached on an error, Johnson advanced to third base and Southam advanced to second base on a Jason Sanford SAC; Sanford out 5-4 on the play and With 1-Out: James Todhunter singled to centerfield to score Johnson and Southam and Brad Ezekiel doubled to left-field to score Todhunter.
The Chiefs get on in the fourth as : Brad Ezekiel led-off the inning with a Solo Home Run to left-field.
The Chiefs added two runs in the sixth James Todhunter led-off the inning with a single to centerfield, Brad Ezekiel walked, a wild pitch allowed Todhunter to advance to third base and Brad Ezekiel to advance to second base and With 2-Out: Stephen Mullaley singled to score Todhunter and Brad Ezekiel.
