The St. John’s Ice Caps fall 2-1 in overtime to the Syracuse Crunch at Mile One Saturday night. That gives the Crunch a split of the weekend series and it was also the second game of this series decide in an extra session.
Matt Taormina scored the winning goal at 3:03 of the overtime session to give the Crunch the win.
Gabriel Dumont had the Ice Caps goal at 3:54 of the opening period.

Sven Andrighetto scored his second goal of the game at 50 seconds of overtime lifting the St. John’s Ice Caps to a 4-3 win over the Syracuse Crunch in A-H-L Play at Mile One in front of 5570 fans.
Stefan Fournier and Jeremy Gregoire added singles for the Ice Caps who fired just 28 shots at the Syracuse net.
Eddie Pasquale made 44 saves in the nets for the Ice Caps.
These teams meet again Saturday night at Mile One.
