Eddie Pasquale stopped 44 shots but the St. John’s IceCaps fell 2-1 to the Toronto Marlies Sunday.
Pasquale faced a steady diet of rubber all game long, including 19 shots in the second and 17 in the third. Bud Holloway scored late for the IceCaps to narrow the deficit to one, but a last minute rally fell just short.
Brett Findlay notched both goals for the Marlies in the final game between the two teams this season in St. John’s.
With his third period tally, Holloway now has seven points (2G, 5A) in his last four games, while Charles Hudon’s assist gives him four points (2G, 2A) on his current three-game point streak.

Down 1-0 after three minutes of play the St. John’s Ice Caps scored three unanswered goals and upset the Toronto Marlies 3-1 in A-H-L play on a stormy night at Mile One.
Max Friberg with his eighth goal of the season tied the game at one at 11:03 of the second period. Charles Hudon scored what proved to be the game winning goal at 14:57 of the third on the power play. Bud Holloway then scored the third goal into an empty net at 18:46 of the final frame.
Zach Fucakle was in goal for the win making 32 saves.
