The St. John’s IceCaps announced their 2015-2016 American Hockey League (AHL) roster that will start the season Saturday evening in Hartford versus the Wolf Pack.
The roster is as follows:
Forwards (17): Charles Hudon, Daniel Carr, Mark MacMillan, Nikita Scherbak, Angelo Miceli, Christian Thomas, Jacob De La Rose, Bud Holloway, Stefan Fournier, Connor Crisp, Brandon McNally, Michael McCarron, Sven Andrighetto, Tim Bozon, Jeremy Gregoire, Markus Eisenschmid and Gabriel Dumont;
Defencemen (10): Josiah Didier, Morgan Ellis, Dalton Thrower, Darren Dietz, Mark Barberio, Mac Bennett, Ryan Johnston, Brett Lernout, Joel Hanley and Travis Brown;
Goaltenders (3): Zachary Fucale, Eddie Pasquale and Dustin Tokarski.
The IceCaps also announced that forward Gabriel Dumont has been named team captain, reprising the role he assumed last season when the Canadiens’ affiliate was based in Hamilton, Ontario. The Ville Degelis, Que. native has played all of his 315 career American Hockey League regular season games with the Hamilton Bulldogs, where he accumulated 154 points (73 goals, 81 assists) and 416 penalty minutes. Dumont has also appeared in 18 National Hockey League games with the parent Montreal Canadiens. Defenceman Mark Barberio and forward Bud Holloway will provide support, each wearing the letter ‘A’ on their sweaters as assistant captains.
Additionally, the IceCaps confirmed the club has signed forward Markus Eisenschmid – who had been with the team on a try-out – to a one-year AHL contract.
