Hockey Newfoundland and Labrador held its annual general meeting in Gander during the weekend.

There is now a new referee in chief for Hockey Newfoundland and Labrador.

Ed Flood of Corner Brook was elected to the post defeating previous referee in chief Don Kelly of Mont Pearl who has held the post for many years.

It was also revealed that three teams will compete once again in the Central West Senior Hockey League–Grand Falls Windsor Cataracts, Gander Flyers and Clarenville Caribous. The Flyers ran into financial problems last year and looked like the league may not be able to compete in 2017-18.
