A gentleman who has been synonymous with baseball in St. John’s played his last game as a player with Shamrocks Thursday September 17th, 2015 at St. Pat’s Ball Park.

Gulliver, who is a little over fifty years of age called it a career with the team he started his playing career with in senior the Shamrocks.

Sean started playing shortstop and finished in that position on Thursday night. He gave way in the sixth inning to his oldest son Parker who moved to the position his father player in senior baseball and also in provincial baseball with the Caps.

Gully, a he is know to his teammates won many championships with the Shamrocks who were deemed ” The team of the 80’s. He also won many provincial championships with the St Johns Capitals as a player and a coach.

Sean was a true gentleman throughout his playing and coaching career in senior. Well respected and will be missed as a player by many.

However his career in baseball isn’t over. He has two sons Parker and Jackson both playing with the Shamrocks Intermediate team and he will be their coach.

It’s also well known that Sean was a great friend to the late Edgar Hartery. Edgar is looking down now and would probably be saying ” Well done Sean you had a fantastic career.”

God Bless Gully, as an Umpire I will miss you as a player you are truly a great gentleman and a true friend. All the best cpl… Umpire #5
