CONCEPTION BAY, Newfoundland – Growlers win a tight, fast game against the Worschester Railers in CBS Arena after a overtime period and a shootout. Marcus Power scoring the winning shot to give the Growlers a 3-2 victory. Growlers won the shootout 2 – 1. Power earned the 1st Star of the game.
Railers started the game with two quick goals and the Growlers picked up a single before the end of the period. Period 2 was scoreless despite the Growlers having 11 shots on goal to the Railers 4. In the end both teams had 31 shots on goal and both teams goalies put in star performances.
This is the first game in a three game home series in CBS with the Worchester Railers. They return on Saturday and Sunday before going back on the road.
