ST. JOHN’S, NL – Volleyball player Falon McLoughlan will once again represent Team Canada on the international stage, this time at the 25th Summer Deaflympics in Tokyo, Japan, taking place November 15–26, 2025.

Falon is one of the top volleyball players in the province. She won the 2024 Premier’s Athletic Award and was a finalist for Female Athlete of the Year.

She joined Team Canada Women’s Deaf Volleyball team at age 14 and was the youngest player on the team.

This year’s Games mark the 100th anniversary of the Deaf Olympics, with more than 80 countries participating. Falon is not only the youngest female athlete on the Canadian roster, but also the only Newfoundlander competing for Canada at these Games.

Way to go, Falon – best of luck in Tokyo!
