EDGE TAKE TWO FROM ISLAND STORM

The St. John’s Edge had what seemed to be a comfortable 15 point lead at one point against Island Storm but had to settle for a three point win 109-106 over the Storm at Mile One on Carl English retirement day. The game also saw probably the largest crowd at a basketball game with 5475 fans attending.

Karrington Ward led the edge with 26 points and Canie Broome added 19 and Tyrone Watson 18. Edge led 54-53 at the half .

 

The next home game for the Edge won’t be until March 24th as they will be on the road until then.

S A T U R D A Y

St. John’s Edge outscored Island Storm 30-16 in the final quarter and defeated the Island Storm 101-95 to improve to 10-7 in the season while the Storm fell to 7-13.

Ryan Richardson and Monty Brandon had 17 points each for the Edge and Cane Broome contributed 16.

The Storm were up by one 51-50 at the half.

There teams meet again Sunday at three o’clock at Mile One. It’s the day that Carl English officially retires as a player from basketball.
