CLARENVILLE TAKE TWO FROM CEEBEE STARS IN EAST PLAYOFFS

Clarenville Caribous are now one win away from a berth in the ECSHL semi finals as they downed CeeBee Stars 5-2 to take a two games to none lead in their best of five series.

Five players shared in the Clarenville scoring. Lucas Goobie, Rod Mahoney, Chad Earle, Dustin Russell and Mason Reid.

Robbie Taylor and Daniel Sparkes replied for the CeeBee Stars.

The teams were deadlock at 2 all after the first period and Clarenville took a 3-2 lead heading to the final frame where they added two more to salt away the victory.

 

 

S A T U R D A Y

Clarenville Caribous won the opening game of their best of five series with Conception Bay CeeBee Stars as they skated to a 6-2 win. Justin Pender and Kevin Reid scored twice each for the winners. Chad Earle and Lucas Gosse had singles.

Daniel Sparkes and Bret Shute replied for the CeeBee Stars.

Same teams play again Sunday night at six in Clarenville.

F R I D A Y

Chris Hodge’s second goal of the game at 3:12 of overtime earned CB Blues a 6-5 win over Northeast Eagles in East Coast Senior hockey playoff action Friday night.

The Blues were up 2-1 after the opening period and Northeast scored four unanswered second period goals to take a 5-2 lead heading to the third but were outscored 2-0 by the Blues in the third to force the overtime session. 

Michael Ryan, Garrett Murphy, Kyle Tibbo and Brandon O’Neill were the other goal scorers for the Blues. 

Cody Barron and Brandon Bussey netted two goals each for the Eagles with the single from Brady Holwell.
