ACES ARE CORNER BROOK SR BASEBALL CHAMPS

GAME SIX

Aces are the Corner Brook senior baseball champions. They beat the Monarchs 5-1 to win the best of seven final four games to two.

It marks the first time since 2009 that the Aces have won the championship. After 2009 the Hawks won the championship right through 2017.

Steve Hynes pitched the win on a one hitter.

He did not issue a walk and fanned one.

Brayden Lockyear started and took the loss. He went four innings and allowed three hits walked five and struck out four. Anderson Traverse had the only hit off Hynes.

Monarchs committed ten errors in the game.

GAME FIVE

Monarchs fighting for their baseball lives clawed back from a 4-nothing deficit to defeat Aces 6-5 in ten innings in Corner Brook senior baseball finals play. The Monarchs stay alive and trail the best of seven affair three games to two.

Travis Taylor goes the full ten innings to get the win. He gave up 12 hits walked three and struck out six.

Brian Bennett goes nine and one third innings and gets tagged with the loss. He allowed eight hits, walked four and fanned ten.

Jeff Gilliam went three for five for the Monarchs in this game.

GAME FOUR

Aces scored three runs in the third and added three in the sixth to defeat Monarchs 6-2 in Corner Brook senior baseball finals play. They take a three games to one lead in the best of seven final series.

Michael Tavenor pitched the win. He gave up eight hits and fanned 13. Kevin Farrell the first of three pitchers used by Monarchs took the loss. Matt Prosper and Ryan Park also saw mound duty.

Steve Sheppard of the Monarchs was the games top batter with a three for three performance.

GAME THREE

Aces have taken a two games to one lead in the best of seven Corner Brook Baseball final. Aces downed Monarchs 6-4 in game three on Thursday night. Steve Hynes goes the distance for the win. Tyler Gardner takes the loss. Game four is set for Monday at seven.

GAME TWO

Monarchs have tied the best of seven Corner Brook senior baseball final at a game apiece with Aces.

Tuesday night Monarchs got a four hit pitching performance from Travis Taylor and downed Aces 6-2. Brian Bennett took the loss. Game three will be played Thursday at seven at Jubilee Field.

GAME ONE

Aces won the opening game of the best of seven Corner Brook senior baseball final with a 6-1 win over Monarchs.

Michael Tavenor gets the win on a three hitter and nine strikeouts.

Braden Lockyear takes the loss and has relief help from Kevin Farrell Doug King of the winners was the games top batter with two hits in three attempts.
