The St. John’s Ice Caps get a spit of their home series with Binghamton Senators as they scored three first period goals and then hung on for a 3-2 win.
Goaltender Zach Fucale in goal gets the win stopping 38 of 40 shots fired his way.
Darren Dietz gave the Ice Caps a 1-nothing lead with the opening goal at 1:37 of the first period. Daniel Carr upped the score to 2-nothing Ice Caps as he fired home a marker at 3:45. And Mac Bennett gave the Ice Cap what seemed to be an insurmountable lead with a goal at 11:52 also of the first period.
