CLEARY WINS SENIOR SOFTBALL PLAYER OF MONTH AWARD

The St. John’s Senior Men’s Fastpitch League  has named pitcher outfielder Sean Cleary of Kelly’s Pub Molson Bulldogs as the  Molson-Coors St. John’s Senior Men’s Fastpitch League Player of the Month For August 2020.

Cleary appeared in nine of his team’s ten games  and was a key contributor pitching and also at the plate. He was a perfect 7-0 pitching during the month and had a 1.31 earned run average in 48 innings pitched. He gave up  26 hits,walked just six and fanned  81. He also pitched one shutout win. Cleary has a .321 batting average going nine for 28 and scoring seven runs adding a triple, two home runs, five walks and four runs batted in.

An  Interesting Note: Cleary Played Two Games In Centerfield And On Tuesday, August 25 Against NTV Hitmen He Displayed His Strong Arm In The Bottom Of The 3rd Inning: With 1-Out And A Runner On 2nd Base, A Fly Ball Was Hit To Centerfield And Cleary Made The Catch And The Runner At 2nd Base Tried To Advance To 3rd Base, But Cleary Threw A Strike To Third Base To Gun The Runner Down For The F8, 8-5 Inning Ending Double-Play.

Kelly’s Pub Molson Bulldogs Finished The Month Of August With A 7-3 Record And Tied Atop The League Standings With 3 Cheers Pub Dodgers At 11-9.
