Danny Cleary has cleared waivers and has been assigned by the Detroit Red Wings to their A-H-L affiliate in Grand Rapids.
Cleary has played in 938 N-H-L games. He has played for the Chicago Black Hawks, Edmonton Oilers, Phoenix Coyotes and Detroit Red Wings.
He was a first round draft pick by the Hawks 13th overall .
He also won a Stanley Cup with Detroit in 2008.
