Thanks to outstanding corporate support and fan commitment, the Clarenville Ford Caribous will be on the ice this season!!
Although we fell well short of the season ticket sales targets, through last-minute meetings on Thursday, it is apparent that the corporate community has stepped forward to bridge some of the gap. Season pass commitments have continued to come in throughout today and executive members are working the phones as we speak to reach a level that, when coupled with the corporate pledges, will allow us to move forward.
They are still approximately 75 passes short to make the revenue gap as narrow as possible, and we are confident, based on the support received throughout today, we will be good to go.
In saying that, there have been – and will continue to be – tremendous work ahead of us to ensure a viable season.
Budgets have been refined, then refined, and refined again. Over the coming days, committee members will be reaching out to businesses and individuals to renew their sponsorship, passes, buy advance tickets or whatever can work, and of course to remind everyone that our home opener is Saturday November 5th!
So the west central league will operate with three teams, Gander, Clarenville and Grand Falls Windsor Cataracts. The Corner Brook Royals are not entered this season.
