CATARACTS CLINCH FIRST

The Cataracts clinched first place in the Central/West Senior Hockey League Sunday as they downed the Corner Brook Royals 9-1 in Corner Brook.

STEVE YETMANSteve Yetman was the offensive leader for the Cataracts scoring three times in the clinching game for the Cataracts. Andre Gill chipped in with two goals with the remaining goals coming from Luke Gallant, Cam Fergus, Sam Hounsell and Danny Wicks.

Ryan Watson had the Royals goal.

 

Clarenville defeat the Gander Flyers 8-3.  Ryan Derosiers and Dustin Russell scored twice for the winners.  Mitch Oake, Steve Brazil and Ray Dalton scored for Gander.

 

S A T U R D A Y 

The Corner Brook Royals have moved to within eight points of the first place Cataracts thanks to a 4-2 win on Saturday night on home ice in Corner Brook.

Brandon Hynes, Dave MacDonald, Ryan Watson and Ryan Penney scored the Royals goals. Andre Gill and Michael Brent replied for the Cataracts.

Veteran Ray Dalton scored all three goals and Gander Flyers moved into third place in the league standing with a 3-1 win over the now last place Clarenville Caribous. Brandon Roach had the Clarenville goal.
