The Central West Senior Hockey League playoffs started Saturday night in Corner Brook and Grand Falls Windsor.

 

 

 

 

 

 

CARIBOUSROYALS

S U N D A Y 

The Corner Brook Royals evened the best of seven semi-final series with a 3-1 win Sunday. Brandon Hynes scored twice for the home team  and Scott Doody added a single. Kenny Mahoney had the Clarenville goal.

 

 

S A T U R D A Y 

In Corner Brook the Clarenville Caribous win the opening game of the best of seven semi-final series with a 7-2 victory ion Corner Brook and thus gain home ice advantage.Stewart McCrae paced the win with three goals. Ryan Derosiers added a pair and Kenny Mahoney and Andrew Smith contributed singles. Dave McDonalfd and mike Hynes replied for the Royals.

 

FLYERSCATARACTS

S U N D A Y 

The first place Cataracts grabbed a 2-nothing series lead on Sunday with an 8-1 decision over the Gander Flyers. Andre Gill the offensive spark plug with three goals in this game. Mike Brent and Cam Fergus scored two goals each and Mike Cole added a single. Andrew Ryan had the Gander goal.

S A T U R D A Y 

The first place Cataracts used home ice to their advantage as they downed the Gander Flyers 6-2 to take a 1-0 lead in that best of seven semi final series. Rodi Short had a pair of markers with the remaining goals from Michael Brent, Kyle McGuirk, Cam Fergus and Michael Brent. Ray Dalton and Jordan Escott replied for the Flyers.
