GANDER FLYERS WIN TWO WEEKEND GAMES

S U N D A Y

The Gander Flyers made it a weekend sweep in senior hockey Sunday with a 5-4 shootout win over the Clarenville Caribous. Pat O Keefe gets the winner in a shootout.

In another game Grand Falls Windsor Cataracts beat Southern Shore 4-1. Danny Wicks scored twice for the winners with singles from Rodi Short and Kyle McGuirk. Daniel Cadigan scored for the Shore.

S A T U R D A Y

Gander Flyers fired 52 shots on goal and made five count as they beat the Southern Shore Breakers 5-3 in senior hockey play Saturday night.

Jordan Escott tallied twice for the Flyers. Andrew Paul, Jonathan Coffey and Andrew Ryan added singles.

Peter Kavanagh had a pair of goals for the Breakers and Jeremy Nicholas added a single.

 

 

F R I D A Y

The Grand Falls Windsor Cataracts fired 81 shots at Northeast Eagles goaltender Doug Pippy and defeated the Eagles 8-2 in senior hockey play Friday night,

Brandon Bussey fired home three goals for the winners and Rodi Short added a pair. Mike Cole, Kyle McGuirk and Michael Hynes added singles.

Shayne McGrath and Tyler Bennett were the goalscorers for Northeast.

 

Northeast Goaltender Doug Pippy made get this 73 saves in this game.

Cats led 2-0 after first and 7-0 going to the third.
