The Conception Bay CeeBee Stars are the 2017 Herder Memorial champions. Kenny Kings second goal of the game at 15:59 of the third and that gave the CeeBee Stars a 4-3 victory in game five of the final. Daniel Sparkes and Lucas Goobie had the other goals. Ryan Delaney, Justin Pender and Ryan Derosiers had the Clarenville goals in this game. Its the CeeBee Stars first Herder win since 2008. CeeBee Stars goalie A J Whiffen was named the final series most valuable player.
Caribous goaltender Jason Churchill argued that the puck was pushed into the net by the side of the net. However the goal stood.

The 2017 Herder Memorial Trophy champion will be declared in a fifth and deciding winner take all game.
Brett Shute sent Conception Bay CeeBee Stars home in jubilation Saturday night as his goal in the second overtime session earned the CeeBee Stars a 1-nothing victory over the Clarenville Caribous and forcing the deciding game.
Both goaltenders in this game A J Whiffen for the CeeBee Stars and Jason Churchill for the Caribous between them madfe over 100 saves in the 5 period contest.
The fifth and deciding game is set for two o clock Sunday at the Clarenville Civic Center.

The Clarenville Caribous are one win away from capturing their 2012.
Friday night the Caribous defeated the Conception Bay CeeBee Stars 4-1 to take a two games to one lead in the best of five final series.
Ryan Delaney, Kevin Reid, Dustin Russell and Mason Reid tallied for the Caribou.
Ray Dalton gets the lone goal for the CeeBee Stars.
Game four is set for Saturday night at 7:30 in Clarenville
