CAPS JR BASEBALL CHAMPIONS

The St. John’s Caps defeated the Corner Brook Barons 4-3 to win the provincial  junior baseball championship Sunday. Graham King gets the win. He pitched five and two thirds innings and allowed three runs on six hits, he walked two and fanned six.  Nick Evans came in relief and pitch an inning and a third and had a walk and strikeout.

Andrew Flood takes the loss., He allowed four runs on seven hits walked and fanned one. 

Tournament award winners 

Stephen Crooks of Mount Pearl was the top batter with an .800 batting average in the tournament. Michael Lewis of Grand Falls was the top pitcher and Eric McKay of St. John’s was named most valuable player.
