CAPS BEAT EAGLES IN A SHOOTOUT

It doesn’t get much better than this when it comes to hockey.

The East Coast Senior Hockey League game between St. John’s Caps and Northeast Eagles was decided by a shootout. The teams were tied at three all when the deciding factor would be the shootout.

It was Dylan Brake’s shootout goal that gave the Caps a 4-3 win in this contest.

Justin O’Reilly had two goals in regulation time and Jeremy Barron a single for the Caps.

Tyler Bennett forced the game into the shootout situation when he scored 5:14 into the third stanza. Paul Cuff and Bruce Power had the other goals for Northeast.

Kyle Downer made 35 saves in net for the Caps and at he other end Doug Pippy stopped 45 shots.
